His shotlock requires a well-timed button press to send out the most damage. Riku is now able to perform a shotlock similar to Sora. Riku was previously a playable character in the base Kingdom Hearts 3 but this time he comes with a few new abilities. Before each section, the player will be prompted to play as Sora, or one of his friends. The next major chunk of Re:Mind will be replaying through the ending section of the Keyblade Graveyard in the original game (where Sora fights the Organization in groups) but there's a new twist with additional playable characters and minor changes to cutscenes. Keep doing this until he's out of HP.ĭespite winning the fight, through the next cutscene, Sora is defeated. When Terra Xehanort shoots out dark lasers in Sora's direction, these can be reflected by blocking. Time the roll appropriately to avoid being attacked. He sends his Guardian to pummel the ground and the shock wave can damage Sora. Terra Xehanort's desperation move will kick in after sustaining serious damage. As the Guardian continues to try and attack Sora, Dodge Roll away until the end of his attack. Block his Keyblade swings and counter to stagger him. Dodge Roll away from the Guardian and attack Terra Xehanort. Terra Xehanort will summon his guardian to attack Sora. If you've become familiar with the controls and mechanics, proceed to some cutscenes, after which you will find yourself alongside Donald and Goofy in the first world, Olympus. This is the first fully original fight in Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind. Once you have access to a menu, you can use the "customize" option to assign these two attacks to shortcuts, allowing Sora to speedily cast magic in the midst of battle. Repeat the process until its health is fully depleted, giving Sora access to two magic attacks: Fire and Water. The slowness of the Darkside as well as the short breaks it takes between attacks works against it, giving Sora time to dole out quick attacks on its hands and chip away at its two health bars. These beams home in on Sora, so make sure to dodge right before they make contact to avoid taking damage. The Darkside's final attack consists of it kneeling down and shooting out beams of dark energy from its chest. You should ignore these Shadows in favor of a continuing offense on the Darkside, unless you find yourself in need of the HP that they drop after being extinguished (they also drop Munny, but it isn't much). Wack at them with the Keyblade to dispatch them in a few hits, and the true threat of this mysterious area will be revealed: the Darkside, the same monster Heartless that attacked the Destiny Islands at the beginning of the first game.Īttack the Shadows that the Darkside spawns if in need of HP.Īfter this attack, it produces another shockwave, this time spawning Shadows in the process. A simple combat tutorial follows, in which Sora does battle with some familiar weak Heartless: Shadows. Choose wisely, especially on higher difficulties, as you will not be able to change your answer to any of these questions past this point. Making a selection here concludes the question-and-answer portion of the tutorial. This will give you access to more magic-boosting abilities, such as MP Haste, early on. The image of Sora with his Dream Eaters represents the Mystic. This will give you access to more offensive abilities, such as Combo Plus, early on.
